6000 Series – Standard Deep Groove Ball Bearing
6000 series is the most widely used deep groove ball bearing, offering an excellent balance of load capacity, speed, and compact design for general-purpose applications.
- Load Type: Radial loads with moderate bidirectional axial capacity
- Speed Capability: High-speed rated, suited for motors, spindles, and precision drives
- Cross-Section: Most compact section, minimizing weight and occupied envelope
- Seal Options: Open, shielded, and sealed configurations for different operating environments
- Customization: Full-specification custom manufacturing available, covering dimensions, materials, coatings, and bearing structure
6200 Series – Light Deep Groove Ball Bearing
6200 series features a larger cross-section than the 6000 series, providing higher radial and axial load capacity while remaining a versatile choice for a broad range of industrial applications.
- Load Type: Higher radial and axial load capacity than 6000 series for the same bore
- Cross-Section: Larger section accommodates greater ball size and heavier load ratings
- Balance: Optimal balance between load capacity, speed, and compactness for general industrial use
- Seal Options: Open, shielded, and sealed configurations for different operating environments
- Application Fit: Gearboxes, pumps, electric motors, and general industrial machinery

6300 Series – Medium Deep Groove Ball Bearing
6300 series features heavier race geometry and a larger ball complement, providing greater radial, thrust, and combined load capacities for demanding heavy-duty industrial applications.
- Load Type: High radial load capacity, significantly higher than 6000/6200 for the same bore
- Durability: Heavier race geometry for extended service life under demanding loads
- Industrial Grade: Designed for continuous heavy-duty operation in harsh environments
- Seal Options: Open, shielded, and sealed configurations for different operating environments
- Application Fit: Heavy-duty industrial gearboxes, conveyors, and high-load drive systems
6400 Series – Heavy Deep Groove Ball Bearing
6400 series is the heaviest standard deep groove ball bearing series, engineered for extreme-load applications where standard cross-sections cannot meet radial load demands.
- Load Type: Maximum radial load capacity among all standard deep groove ball bearing series
- Construction: Extra-heavy cross-section with maximum ball size for superior load density
- Strength: Engineered for extreme-load conditions where lighter sections are insufficient
- Durability: Extended fatigue life under high radial shock and sustained heavy loads
- Application Fit: Heavy-duty gearboxes, rolling mills, industrial drives, and shock-loaded machinery
- Customization: Full-specification custom manufacturing available, covering dimensions, materials, coatings, and bearing structure

61000 Series – Thin-Section Deep Groove Ball Bearing
61000 series thin-section deep groove ball bearings minimize radial cross-section to free envelope space and reduce rotating mass, without sacrificing load capacity or reliability.
- Design Priority: Minimum radial section, maximizing available space without sacrificing reliability
- Weight Reduction: Significantly lower rotating mass, critical in weight-sensitive and inertia-sensitive designs
- Speed: High rotational speed capability enabled by reduced rotating mass
- Application Fit: Industrial robots, medical equipment, aerospace structures, and semiconductor machinery
- Customization: Full-specification custom manufacturing available, covering dimensions, materials, coatings, and bearing structure

Custom Deep Groove Ball Bearing Manufacturing
Beyond standard catalog sizes, BOM Bearing designs and manufactures custom deep groove ball bearing solutions, including integrated assemblies where the bearing and its mating components are produced as a single precision unit. This eliminates assembly errors and delivers a more compact, higher-performing module.
- Integrated Assemblies: Bearing combined with shaft sleeve, housing, or mounting flange as one unit, delivering more compact structure, smaller envelope, and higher load capacity than separately assembled components
- Precision Advantage: One-piece machining eliminates assembly stack-up errors between bearing rings and mating parts, delivering combined accuracy that cannot be matched by bolting separate components together
- Dimension Customization: Non-standard bore, OD, width, and inch dimensions outside catalog ranges
- Material & Treatment: Special steels, stainless steel, ceramic rolling elements, custom coatings and heat treatments for corrosive, high-temperature, or electrically insulating environments
- Sealing & Lubrication: Custom seal types, lubricant specifications, and operating temperature ranges for application-specific requirements
- Customization: Full-specification custom manufacturing available, covering dimensions, materials, coatings, and bearing structure

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the difference between the 6000, 6200, and 6300 series?
They differ mainly in cross-section size and load capacity for the same bore diameter. The 6000 series is the most compact, 6200 offers higher load capacity with a slightly larger OD, and 6300 provides the heaviest load capacity with the largest cross-section. The dimension table above shows all three series side by side for each bore size, making it easy to compare options for your application.
Should I choose shielded (ZZ) or sealed (sealed) bearings?
Shielded (ZZ) bearings use non-contact metal shields with lower friction, suitable for high-speed and clean environments. Sealed (sealed) bearings use rubber contact seals for superior dust and moisture protection, ideal for harsh or contaminated environments. Sealed bearings have a lower speed rating (50–60% of open type).
Can deep groove ball bearings handle axial loads?
Yes, deep groove ball bearings can accommodate both radial loads and moderate axial loads in both directions, thanks to their deep raceway grooves. However, for heavy axial loads, angular contact ball bearings or thrust bearings are recommended.
What clearance grade should I select (C2, CN, C3, C4)?
CN (Normal) is the standard clearance for most applications. C3 (greater than normal) is recommended for high-temperature environments or tight interference fits. C2 (less than normal) is used for precision applications with minimal play. C4 is for extreme temperature differentials.
Can BOM provide custom deep groove ball bearings?
Yes. Standard customization includes special dimensions, precision grades (P0 through P4), internal clearance classes (C2 to C4), cage materials (pressed steel, brass, polyamide), sealing options, and special surface treatments. Beyond that, we design and manufacture integrated bearing assemblies where the bearing and mating components (shaft sleeve, housing, flange) are machined as a single precision unit. This delivers a more compact structure with higher load capacity, and eliminates assembly stack-up errors for superior combined precision. Contact us to discuss your application.
